So here it is! Our contribution to Alif's (Sufian Samsiyar) installation is the Mi Casa Su Casa hopscotch! In response to the limitations that artists in Singapore have to practice their craft, Alif has invited artist friends to contribute a personal object to symbolize the individuals connection and possibly in our view, the struggles a local artist face. Why the hopscotch? Well, in its prime, Mi Casa Su Casa's visitors will never fail to spot and interact with the hopscotch, installed at the corridor of the studio. It was made as a creative outlet for engagement in anything non-technological in this age, also in response to people not knowing how to have fun anymore as they grow up. Instead of the conventional 8 numbered hopscotch, the micasa hopscotch has 10, and with numerals to teach the neighbour's young children (Indian family from Malaysia) to count in English. Hopefully it will engage with Alif's audience during the show! Congrats Alif! More information here. Our friend Sufian will be presenting his work at CCA, which will open this Friday (3 July) at 7.30pm. We have just contributed a part of Mi Casa Su Casa to this, which will lie amongst other fellow artist friends personal objects. Go interact with his work, and we'll see you there! https://www.facebook.com/events/369598773230847/
