The work is inspired by a fascination with gem stones and the fact that they are one of the hardest natural substances found on Earth. Here, the idea is being made parallel with the notion of knowledge, as one acquires it by studying or reading, a continual process of 'sedimentation'. The object becomes a pendant which touches the heart's centre as one wears it.
