"My Hometown; CNX" represents the notion of memory and place. It is an extended work from my current research. I am interested in the relationship between people and their spatial experience. Our actions and interpretations are heavily influenced by our past experiences and memories. Experiences and memories are constructed by each other and create a meaning and a sense of place. In this work, I am playing with sheets of typefaces and translucent materials to create layers of depth in space and sequence of place. The gap between each layer instills a rich memory, encouraging the individual to imagine and reinterpret.
