Breakfast Tea is a series of many tea bags embroidered with Sanskrit words from sacred chants and texts, whose meanings are centered around the cosmos and the universe. Deriving inspiration from eastern philosophy that regards the act of tea making as a contemplative act, Breakfast Tea is a critique of society that wants everything instantly, including spirituality. The act of embroidering sacred Sanskrit words on the tea bag is an act of translating a consumer commodity into a sacred object.
The Sanskrit word embroidered on the chosen tea bag, means embodiment of tranquility. The nature of pausing and reflecting is synonymous to the act of tea making which is slowly being lost in urban cities, and replaced by the tea bag that acts as a metaphor for the spiritual supermarket.
